SEA CEPTOR
Vertically-launched all-weather surface to air weapon system
Sea Ceptor is a cutting-edge naval Air Defence system designed to protect both the host vessel and escorted fleets from modern air threats. Operating at ranges exceeding 25 km, it delivers high-performance Defence with a minimal launch signature. The System is highly compact, thanks to Soft Vertical Launch (SVL) technology and not reliant on dedicated fire control radars; Sea Ceptor is ideal for retrofits as well as new-builds. SVL is a form of cold launch where the missile is ejected from its self-contained canister using a gas charge and the main-motor is not fired until it has achieved safe clearance from the ship. SVL provides improved performance and safety over the conventional Hot Vertical Launch, providing full 360°coverage.
In service with the Royal Navy’s Type 23 Frigates since 2018, Sea Ceptor is now being adopted by navies across the globe for its unmatched capability-to-cost ratio. Powered by the Common Anti-Air Modular Missile (CAMM) — also entering service with the British Army — Sea Ceptor offers a common missile solution across domains, reducing the logistics burden and optimising lifecycle cost.
Key Operational Features:
